Choose where your life begins
The Isle spawns you at random, often far from the action or your teammates. On Isla Sonora, a newly created dinosaur is offered a free teleport to one of the island’s 16 regions.
A window automatically opens on the site as soon as the server detects your new dinosaur: there you’ll see a list of regions, with a preview of each one. You choose, you confirm, and your dinosaur heads there in a matter of seconds.
Who is eligible
- A recently born dinosaur that is still below 30% growth.
- Only one teleportation per life. Once used—or declined—it won’t be available again until your next dinosaur.
- Digging yourself out after burying yourself does not grant a new attempt: the server distinguishes between a dinosaur that emerges from the ground and a dinosaur that has just been born.
Where exactly you’ll land
You choose a region, not a specific location. The server drops you at a spot where players have actually been, randomly selected within a 500-meter radius of the zone’s center, and chosen from among the points farthest from current players.
There are two reasons for this: to prevent players from camping at the spawn point, and to prevent you from landing on a rock or at the top of a tree.
Warning to read before clicking
This is not a bug; it’s a safety measure. Without it, players could exploit the system as follows: hatch a baby, use it to scout an empty area, then release their large dinosaur from the park and summon their allies there—effectively a free deployment after scouting.
To regain control, simply switch dinosaurs: the restriction is lifted as soon as that dinosaur dies, or as soon as you put it away in the park yourself.
Two side effects to be aware of:
- Teleporting triggers the cooldown for group teleports.
- Removing a dinosaur from the park suspends the initial teleport for a few minutes (removing a juvenile from the park causes its growth to drop as if it were a rebirth: without this delay, the loop could be exploited).
The Case of a Brand-New Prime Dino
A Prime purchased from the store leaves the park at 50% growth: it’s well above the 30% cap, so it’s not eligible for this teleport. Using the teleport with a baby to set the stage doesn’t work either—that’s exactly what the restriction above prevents.
The answer lies elsewhere: leaving the park is itself the choice of starting point. When you take a purchased dinosaur that has never set foot in a game out of the park, you’re prompted to choose its destination region—it appears there immediately.
Key Takeaways
- A brand-new dinosaur (less than 30% grown) is entitled to one teleportation to one of the 16 regions.
- Using this feature blocks the dinosaur from leaving the park as long as you’re playing it.
- Planning to release a brand-new Prime from the park? Don’t teleport: you’ll choose its region when you release it.
- A region you’ve left via teleportation reopens after 10 minutes.
